Return to the LORD.

An illustration of message from God to prophet Joel to the people of Israel.

"Even now" declares the LORD " return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning."

JOEl 2: 12-13

Joel's prophecy to the people of Judah ( the Southern kingdom) - in approximately 835-796 BC in Jerusalem.

The people of Judah had turned to self- centeredness, idolatry and sin.Joel warned them that this kind of lifestyle would inevitably bring God's judgement.

God told the people to turn to him while there was still time.

Destruction would soon be upon them.Time is also running out for us. Because we don't know when our lives will end.

We should trust and obey God now, while we can.Don't let anything hold you back from turning to him.

Deep remorse was often shown by tearing one's clothes, but God didn't want an outward display of penitence without true inward repentance.

Promise of the future blessings.

"Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." Joel 2:32

God is ready to forgive and restore all those who would come to him and turn away from sin.

God wants to shower his people with his love and restore them to a proper relationship with him.

Forgiveness comes by turning from sin and turning towards God.

It is not too late to receive God's forgiveness.

God's greatest desire is for you to come to him.

The Great Blessings.

An illustration of Most telling the Israelites about the affirmation of God's faithfulness to keep His promises.

"May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you, as he has promised you!".

Deuteronomy 1:11.

A prayer for a greatly multiplied and blessed future for the people of Israel.

An affirmation of God's faithfulness to keep His promises.

A declaration that God desires His people to experience great increase and blessing.

Deuteronomy 1:11 reflects God's loving nature as one who desires to bless His people abundantly. God's heart is not stingy or withholding; He loves to give good gifts to His children. Moses' prayer captures this aspect of God's character, showing that God's blessings are an expression of His love and faithfulness.

We should be obedient and faithful to our Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:24

"He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it".

This verse assures believers that God, who initiates their calling and transformation, is trustworthy and will complete His work in them.

Amen.

The Valley of the Last Judgement.

The Valley of Jehoshaphat (Kidron Valley) in East Jerusalem, site of the biblical Last Judgement.

Do you know?

Joel : 3 says about the place of

the Last Judgement.

I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.

The Valley of Jehoshaphat is located in East Jerusalem, between the city and the Mount of Olives. The valley is also known as the Kidron Valley.

The Valley of Jehoshaphat is a narrow valley in the Bible that is considered the site of the Last Judgment.

The valley is mentioned in the Old Testament Book of Joel, which states that God will judge all nations in the valley.

The valley is also known as the "valley of decision".

The valley is named after King Jehoshaphat, who was a member of the House of David.

The BEST Choice.

Illustration of Martha and Mary with Jesus, depicting Luke 10:38-42, the Best Choice

Luke 10:38-42

Martha and Mary.

38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.

Jesus prioritizes sincere faith over material things.

Jesus visits the home of Martha and Mary, where he contrasts good things with the best things.

Martha works to prepare dinner and

Mary sits and listens to Jesus.

People should not be distracted by tasks and miss out on being with Jesus.

Prioritize the Lord.

The Lord is content with your presence and spiritual presence, so you don't need to prepare a lot for him.

You should focus on what's important and better than anything else, which is the Lord.

Invite Jesus into your life.

Jesus invites people to sit and rest in his presence, hear his words, and know that they are loved.

The Message of Hope.

Image illustrating "The Message of Hope," a Bible reflection on Jeremiah's rescue and God's promise of deliverance to those who trust Him.

Obey The LORD, He will RESCUE You!

When King Zedekiah was ruling Judah,Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it.

The city wall was broken.

When Zedekiah, the king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled.

But the Babylonian army pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho.

They captured him and took him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

He killed his sons and the nobles of Judah.

He put out Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.

The Babylonians set fire to the royal palace and the houses of the people and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

In the land of Judah some of the poor people were left behind, who owned nothing.

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given these orders about Jeremiah.

"Take him and look after him; don’t harm him but do for him whatever he asks."

Jeremiah remained among his own people.

While Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him: “Go and tell Ebed-Melek the Cushite,

‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I am about to fulfill my words against this city—words concerning disaster, not prosperity. At that time they will be fulfilled before your eyes.

"But I will rescue you on that day, declares the Lord; you will not be given into the hands of those you fear.  I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 39:17-18)

It is a message of hope, warning, encouragement and  it teaches the lessons of obedience.

God will rescue and redeem everyone from all dangers, if they trust in him.

Those who believe and obey him will not be given to any enemies.

God will save you from all your life-threatening situations.

You must obey the LORD.

Amen.
