Many amazing things are there to experience the saga of that place.
Many old buildings have been carefully preserved or restored, while charming cafés, boutiques and art galleries add a modern touch.
Pondicherry is also known for its coastline. Promenade Beach, along the famous Rock Beach area, is a popular place for an evening walk. The sound of the waves, sea breeze and beautiful sunset create a relaxing atmosphere.
Other beaches and coastal areas around Puducherry offer opportunities to enjoy nature away from the busier parts of the city.
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is another notable landmark. Its impressive Gothic-style architecture reflects the city's Christian and French heritage.
