Kozhikode Beach, on India's Malabar coast in Kerala, is known for its long stretch of golden sand along the Arabian Sea.
A pier built in the 19th century juts into the water and remains a popular spot for watching the sunset, one of the beach's biggest draws.
In the evenings, locals and visitors gather to stroll the promenade, enjoy roasted peanuts and local street snacks, and watch fishing boats return with the day's catch.
