Ezekiel 26 - God's Judgment Against Tyre.
Ezekiel Chapter 26 describes God's judgment against the ancient city of Tyre because of its pride, arrogance, and rejoicing over the downfall of Jerusalem.
The chapter reveals God's sovereignty over nations and reminds us that no city, kingdom, or human power can stand against His judgment.
1. Prophecy against Tyre (Ezekiel 26:1–6)
God gives Ezekiel a prophecy against Tyre.
When Jerusalem fell, the people of Tyre rejoiced because they thought Jerusalem's destruction would bring them greater opportunities for trade and wealth.
However, God was displeased with their attitude and declared that Tyre would face destruction.
Important lesson: We should never rejoice over another person's suffering or misfortune. Instead, we should show compassion and kindness.

2. Nebuchadnezzar's attack (Ezekiel 26:7–14)
God declares that Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, would come against Tyre with a powerful army.
The prophecy describes:
Powerful military forces attacking the city.
The destruction of its walls and towers.
The removal of its stones, timber, and soil.
The city becoming a bare rock where fishermen would spread their nets.
God declares that Tyre would never again regain its former glory.
Important lesson: Earthly wealth, military strength, and human achievements cannot protect anyone from God's judgment.
3. The reaction of other nations (Ezekiel 26:15–18)
The surrounding nations would tremble when they heard about the fall of Tyre.
Kings would come down from their thrones, remove their royal garments, and mourn over the destruction of this once-powerful city.
Tyre had been an influential trading centre, and its downfall would shock many nations.
Important lesson: Human greatness and worldly prosperity are temporary. What appears powerful today may disappear tomorrow.
4.Tyre's complete downfall (Ezekiel 26:19–21)
The chapter concludes with God's declaration that Tyre would be brought down into the depths.
The city that once enjoyed wealth, fame, and influence would become desolate.
Its former glory would disappear, demonstrating the power and authority of God over all nations.
Important lesson: Pride and arrogance cannot stand forever before God.
Main spiritual messages from Ezekiel 26.
1.God judges pride and arrogance. No human power is greater than God's authority.
2. Never celebrate another person's suffering. We should respond to others' difficulties with compassion rather than selfish happiness.
3. Worldly wealth is temporary. Riches, possessions, fame, and positions cannot guarantee lasting security.
4. God's Word is trustworthy. His declarations concerning nations and individuals remind us that His purposes will stand.
5. God is sovereign over all nations. Kings, rulers, and powerful kingdoms remain under His authority.
Ezekiel 26 teaches us that human pride, wealth, and greatness cannot last when they stand against God. Tyre was a wealthy and influential city, but its prosperity could not save it from divine judgment.
We should therefore live with humility, compassion, and reverence for God. Rather than taking pride in worldly achievements, we should seek to please Him through our words and actions.
