Jesus Appears on the Road to Emmaus: A Lesson of Faith, Hope and Resurrection.

Jesus Appears to the Two Disciples on the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35).

Jesus walks with two disciples on the road to Emmaus: The resurrected Jesus joins two disciples as they walk from Jerusalem to Emmaus, discussing His crucifixion. (Luke 24:13–16)

This is one of the beautiful accounts of Jesus' resurrection.

1. What happened on the road to Emmaus?

Two disciples were travelling from Jerusalem to a village called Emmaus.

They were discussing the death of Jesus and were deeply disappointed.

The resurrected Jesus came near and walked with them, but they did not recognise Him.

Jesus explained the Scriptures to them, showing how the Messiah had to suffer before entering His glory.

When they sat down to eat, Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it and gave it to them.

Their eyes were opened, and they recognised Him.

Jesus disappeared from their sight.

They immediately returned to Jerusalem and told the other disciples that they had seen the risen Lord.

Jesus breaks bread with the two disciples: Jesus blesses and breaks bread at the table in Emmaus, and the disciples recognise Him as their risen Lord. (Luke 24:30–31)

2.Important Verse.

Luke 24:32

"And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?"

. The risen Jesus appears to the disciples: Jesus reveals Himself to His followers after His resurrection, bringing them joy, faith and renewed hope. (Luke 24:31–35)

3.Spiritual message.

This incident teaches us several beautiful lessons:

Jesus is near even when we fail to recognise Him. He accompanies us through difficult and disappointing moments.

Jesus gives hope to discouraged hearts. The two disciples were sad, but their encounter with Jesus transformed their sorrow into joy.

God's Word strengthens our faith. Jesus opened the Scriptures and helped them understand God's plan.

An encounter with Jesus changes our lives. The disciples immediately returned to Jerusalem to share the good news.

Central message: Even when disappointment blinds our eyes and weakens our faith, Jesus walks beside us. In His time, He opens our eyes, renews our hope and fills our hearts with joy.

Lord! Fill our hearts with hope and joy. Amen.
